Five values of the Vineyard Movement

Vineyard Values Series: Compassionate Ministry

Weaving together themes from all five of our core values, Pastor Josh ends the Vineyard Core Values” series with a heartfelt message looking at the question of why:

  • Why do we do what we do?
  • Why do we host a food pantry?
  • Why do we stand on the side of the downtrodden and the outcast?
  • Why do we stress the importance of listening to God?

Joining Pastor Josh at the beginning of the message is Bill and Betty Willhite, God’s Community Food Pantry leaders, along with a few other volunteers sharing their heart for why they give their time helping out at the food pantry / clothing closet.

Vineyard Values Series: Culturally Relevant Mission

Each town, village, city and people group has a different culture and feel. This means that each church must be different as the “church exists for the sake of those who are exiled from God.”

In this sermon, Pastor Josh looks at how the Payette River Vineyard’s value of being culturally sensitive has impacted the way they ‘do’ church and live their lives. Definitely worth listening too as it explains the heart of the church to “do what Jesus did.”

Vineyard Values Series: Reconciling Community

Jesus said that His followers would be know for their love (Jn 13:35). As a community of Jesus followers, the Payette River Vineyard seeks to be a community – a people – known for their love for each other and everyone whom they met.  Putting into practice the words of Jesus, we seek to be a healing community – a people of forgiveness.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” –Matthew 6:14-15

Note that Sunday’s sermon starts with a joint testimony from several of PRV’s ladies about the power for forgiveness and being a community of healing.

Update (April 5th):  There has been some folks asking for more information about the connection between forgiveness and Communion…as such, please check out Pastor Josh’s post on the topic.

Vineyard Values Series: Experiencing God

We were blessed yesterday by Reggie and Flo Coleman (Vineyard Boise, Healthy Families Boise, and Angel Food Ministries) who made the trek up from the valley to share with us about the value of experiencing God in and through worship. As always, God showed up and showed out – filling the place with His Presence and warming hearts of all.

Audio Sermon:  2011-03-27 Experiencing God Vineyard Value

The audio recording of the sermon starts with Emily Hopping (PRV Worship Leader) as she shared her heart for worship as well as explaining a little bit about why we do what we do in worship.

This is definitely a sermon worth listening to as it captures the heart of who we are at the Payette River Vineyard.

Vineyard Values Series: Theology and Practice of the Kingdom of God

Yesterday was a blessed day as Pastor Josh talked about changing our worldview to see what God is doing around us. We also talked about living out our faith through tangible actions – practicing our theology of the Kingdom of God.

The service ended with an amazing time of prayer as God healed several lower backs, a right eye, and straightened a pair of bowed legs! God is definitely on the move!!

Who Are We? Vineyard Values Series

In order to be a blessing, it helps to know who you are and why you are where you are. This same principle is true for churches as well as individuals – hence Pastor Josh’s new series on the five values of the Payette River Vineyard.

The series started this past Sunday, March 13th, with a look at the history of Vineyard movement and what keeps us together as a movement. Drawing inspiration for the game of golf, Josh shares about living a life focused on moving toward King Jesus.
